We had a lively group of about 50 old and new members in a lovely setting with superb service, as usual thanks to Rooney. Susan and Patti reviewed the year’s activities with reports from the various groups: Service Project at Village Learning Place, the Book Group, Walking Group and Mahjongg group. We were able to show wonderful photos of these activities as well as a quick slide review of our events/trips throughout the year. But the highlight of the day was hearing the Librarian of Congress, Carla Hayden, tell us about her love of Baltimore and her commitment to bringing the treasures of the Library alive and available to the people through a new exhibit area that has been funded by another Baltimorean, David Rubenstein.
